Meaning
Lalita is imagined as a wish-fulfilling creeper for those devoted to her. The singer asks her to respond quickly because she alone is his refuge. Divine praise gives way to a candid recollection of wandering after proud, unworthy people and flattering them in the hope of assistance. That exhausting dependence is set against a renewed appeal to the goddess. The final verse addresses her as Meenakshi, Uma and the great queen, returning to the insistence that the time for protection has arrived.
