Meaning

The opening tells the goddess that this is the time to protect the devotee. He asks Kamakshi to come swiftly and relieve his suffering, reminding her that he belongs to her. Praise of her as the world's mother and the beloved of Ekamreshvara reinforces that intimate claim. A later verse refuses further postponement: assurances of tomorrow are no comfort to someone who cannot endure the present pain. Remembering her feet, the singer asks for compassionate action now.
