Meaning

The singer asks the fish-eyed goddess to come and show mercy. She is compared to a wish-fulfilling jewel for those who serve her, making the devotee's appeal an expression of confidence in her nature. The verses gather images of beauty and sovereignty, her motherhood of Guha and Heramba, and her delight in the vina. Alongside those praises remains the question of why she delays helping someone who trusts her. The many attributes return to a single request for compassionate protection.
