Meaning

The singer asks who could equal Kamakshi and begs her to look kindly on him. A brief declaration of trust opens into a chain of names: Bhavani, Narayani, Rajarajeshvari and Lalita. She is praised as the form of sacred sound and consciousness, the witness of the world and the protector of those who need her. The closing sung text returns from these expansive descriptions to personal surrender at her feet. The many names address one compassionate mother rather than separate objects of prayer.
