Phrase examples
- Belongs:
S R M P d(ascent, no Ga/Ni),S↑ n d P M g R S(full descent, komal Ga),d P M g R. - Avoid / careful: using Ga or Ni in ascent; reading Dha as shuddha (this form uses komal Dha).
- Common learner errors: confusing this Ni-omitting ascent with the Jaunpuri ascent that includes Ni; running the ascent as a straight scale.
Allied ragas & differentiation
- Jaunpuri — same Asavari thaat; the Asavari / Jaunpuri comparison begins with the ascents: Asavari omits Ni while Jaunpuri includes it. Both displayed descents contain Ga; phrase and intonation differences need demonstration.
- Darbari Kanada — also Asavari thaat but a Kanada-ang raga with andolit Ga; very different in feel.
