Meaning
Addressing the Lord who reclines on the ocean of milk, Tyagaraja asks why he must remain troubled. He has heard of help arriving for the elephant king, of Draupadi's protection, and of Ramadasa's release from imprisonment. He also recalls the crossing of the sea for Sita. These remembered acts become the grounds of his appeal: may the same protecting compassion now reach the person singing to Rama.
