Meaning
Tyagaraja addresses Rama with an arresting claim: taking Janaki's hand has made him a great king. The praise then turns towards Sita's role in the events associated with Ravana. Her fidelity, endurance and restraint allow Rama's fame to shine. Rather than making Sita a background figure, the song places her contribution at the centre of its address to Rama and honours the dignity with which she meets adversity.
