Meaning

A salutation to Rama develops into a series of brief, closely linked addresses. Tyagaraja asks for protection, declares that he will not give up devotion or seek another refuge, and invites Rama to come near. The compact verses make room for both playful questioning and earnest dependence. Rama's name remains the continuing thread, while the final appeal to the ocean of compassion brings the many small petitions back to a single relationship of trust.
