Meaning
Tyagaraja calls Rama the support of his life and the fulfilment of his vows. The intimacy deepens through a sequence of sensory and devotional images: Rama is the light of sight, the fragrance perceived by the nose, the form within repeated prayer and the flower offered in worship. Rather than listing requests, the composition gathers the devotee's whole experience around the presence of the one he praises.
